Hello 👋🏻

Hi I’m Lucy and below is a little about me and how I work!

My own experiences, alongside my professional work, have given me a deep understanding of the many ways neurodivergence can shape identity, relationships, family life, education, work and wellbeing. I understand that masking is rarely as simple as consciously hiding autistic or ADHD traits.

Over time, layers of masking can develop in response to family, school, relationships, work and wider societal expectations. Unpicking these layers can take time and can be complex, particularly when masking has become so familiar that it can be difficult to recognise what is genuinely you and what you have learned to do to fit in.

I’m passionate about helping neurodivergent people make sense of themselves without feeling that they need to change who they are. I work with people to explore identity, relationships, emotions, strengths and challenges, and to develop ways of navigating life that feel authentic and sustainable.

My approach is warm, collaborative, relational and curious. I don’t see therapy as something where I have all the answers. Instead, I see it as a process we explore together. This can involve making sense of past experiences, understanding patterns that have developed over time, exploring the impact of masking and creating space to discover what feels more authentic.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I have extensive experience across psychology, mental health, higher education and professional education. I lead one of the UK’s first interdisciplinary postgraduate programmes in Neurodiversity and have worked extensively to improve accessibility, inclusion and understanding of neurodivergence within education and professional environments.

I’m also a co-author of a counselling book, bringing together my psychological and therapeutic expertise with practical approaches to supporting people.

I’m a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. I bring together psychological research, therapeutic experience, academic expertise and my own lived experience as a neurodivergent person and parent.

Ultimately, I believe people need to be understood as whole people rather than defined by a diagnosis. My aim is to create a space where you can feel heard, accepted and understood, without having to perform, mask or have all the answers.
