Growing up undiagnosed, I often felt invalidated and out of step with those around me. I misaligned with peers who seemed to breeze through parts of life that felt overwhelming for me. These experiences shaped my deep commitment to keeping cultural awareness and diversity at the heart of everything I do. I honour the many different ways people experience the world, because I know how painful it can be when those differences are misunderstood.
As someone with ADHD, I understand what it can feel like to move through the world feeling untethered, misunderstood, or carried along by emotions that feel bigger than the space around you. I also bring the perspective of being a parent to a child with AuDHD, which has deepened my understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to express emotions when safety and support feel uncertain.
I’m a neuroaffirming person-centred integrative psychotherapist supporting young people and adults aged 13 and up. My work focuses on creating a space where you can explore your experiences openly and find ways of navigating life that feel authentic and supportive to who you are.
I have a particular passion for supporting trans, nonbinary and gender diverse individuals and offer trans-affirmative care where gender diversity is welcomed, supported and celebrated. Alongside my therapy work, I also work within a trans healthcare clinic and volunteer with a trans charity supporting young people and their families. I’m also the proud parent of a trans child, which makes this work deeply meaningful to me both personally and professionally.
My own therapy journey gave me the opportunity to explore how I had been experiencing the world and how my uniqueness had shaped my relationship with grief, emotions and connection with others. Through that process, I began to recognise how difficult it had sometimes been to communicate what I was feeling and what I needed, and how important it is to have a space where those experiences can be understood.
Outside of the therapy room I am a former actor, a poetry lover and an amateur painter, I find solace in the arts! Laughter is imperative, baking is a bonus, and candy is a major food group. I love to blast music while I cook, go for a run to clear my head and spend more time than I’d like vacuuming the bountiful hair of my 3 dogs! As a parent to four children, I welcome and encourage an outlet of self-care that feeds the soul! (This also includes vacuuming!)
