Hello 👋🏻

Hi I’m Cally and below is a little about me and how I work!

As a late diagnosed AuDHD woman, my lived experience enables me to offer a space where you can feel truly seen, heard and supported. I understand how complex it can be to make sense of yourself in a world that hasn’t always felt built for you, and I also recognise the unique ways grief can be experienced when it doesn’t fit society’s expectations of what it “should” look like.

As a queer, neurodivergent counsellor, I’m passionate about supporting both the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ community, holding space for the nuance, intersection and individuality within each person’s experience.

I welcome working with a range of different issues, life experiences and challenges. However, my experience and areas of focus often include supporting clients who are:

  • Navigating grief, bereavement and loss (including anticipatory grief and pet loss)

  • Exploring or making sense of their neurodivergence

  • Processing a new identity, such as following an autism or ADHD diagnosis

  • Wanting support with anxiety, low mood, low self-worth or people pleasing

Processing or exploring an ADHD or autism diagnosis can take time, learning and often a lot of unlearning. I can support you in understanding where your mask begins and ends, exploring your coping strategies, softening your inner critic, and helping you reconnect with your authentic self, your needs, and ways of being that feel more aligned and sustainable.

If we work together around grief or bereavement, I hold a strong belief that there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Our work will be led by you and your needs, and may include:

  • Creating gentle, supportive ways to navigate day-to-day life after loss

  • Helping you feel less alone in your grief

  • Processing what happened, at your own pace

  • Exploring ways to stay connected to the person you’ve lost

  • Understanding how grief may be impacting your identity, relationships or work

  • Finding ways to move forward with your grief, rather than feeling pressure to “move on”

Supporting clients to recognise their worth, advocate for themselves, and embrace who they are is one of the greatest privileges of my work.

A little more about me:

I’ve experienced the life-changing impact of grief. I live with endometriosis, and I’ve navigated my own experiences of depression and anxiety. I’ve had both incredibly supportive therapy and therapy that didn’t feel neuro-affirming, which is why I care so deeply about offering a space that feels safe, validating and genuinely helpful.

Alongside private practice, I’ve worked across a range of settings including a women’s mental health charity, a higher education college, a carers support service, and a mental health and wellbeing organisation. I’ve also facilitated bereavement support groups and workshops.

My wider professional background includes roles within an NHS hospital, community engagement, health and social care service improvement, and a wildlife rescue NGO.

Outside of therapy, I’m a huge animal lover, have far too many houseplants, and can often be found rewatching comfort shows like The Office (US), Schitt’s Creek and Superstore.
