Hello 👋🏽

Hi I’m Zahra and below is a little about me and how I work!

If you've found your way here, perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or misunderstood. You may be wondering whether autism or ADHD helps explain your experiences, or simply looking for a space where you don't have to keep explaining how your mind works. Whatever's brought you here, we'll start there.

I'm an AuDHD integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor supporting neurodivergent adults and parents. My understanding of neurodivergence is shaped by my lived experience as an AuDHD person, my clinical work, and parenting neurodivergent children. Together, these experiences have taught me that no two neurodivergent people experience the world in the same way. Rather than making assumptions, I want to understand what life has actually been like for you.

As a British Pakistani Muslim woman, I also understand how culture, faith, family expectations and identity shape our experiences. If these are important parts of who you are, they'll have a place in our conversations too.

I draw on different therapeutic approaches rather than believing one way of working fits everyone. Some people need space to think; others prefer more structure or somewhere to untangle their thoughts out loud. We'll find an approach that feels right for you.

Many people come to therapy carrying years of feeling misunderstood or trying to adapt to environments that never quite fit. If that resonates, you're not alone. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?"

I'm more interested in asking, "What happened to you? What shaped you? And what makes sense about how you've learned to navigate the world?"

I don't see people as problems that need solving. Every coping strategy has a story, and together we'll take the time to understand yours with curiosity, not judgement.

My role isn't to change who you are. It's to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, recognise strengths that may have been overlooked, and find ways of living that feel more sustainable and true to who you are, whether that's in your relationships, work, identity, parenting, emotional wellbeing, or making sense of your own or your child's neurodivergence.

Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working in the corporate world. That experience still shapes how I understand the pressures many people face in balancing work, relationships and identity, particularly when they're expected to keep going while quietly struggling beneath the surface.

Above all, I hope therapy with me feels like somewhere you can exhale without having to mask or arrive with everything figured out.

Outside the therapy room, you'll usually find me outdoors, seeking out nature and quieter places. My dream is to one day live a simple, self-sufficient life in a little cottage on a small farm, surrounded by animals and tucked away near a forest, mountains and a lake.
